About Me
Michelle Barnes holds an associate of applied science degree, AAS and is a New York Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant; and is nationally certified by the National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Additionally, Michelle holds an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education and worked as a preschool teacher for 15 years. It was when she was working in the field of early childhood education that she became innately drawn to the varying and unique needs of children. Michelle works with children of all ages who have developmental delays, cognitive impairments, social emotional needs, self regulation difficulties, sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Michelle has focused her expertise on helping children maximize their skills for optimal functioning at home, in school, and in the community. She strives to help families support their children in reaching their greatest potential. Michelle works as a pediatric occupational therapy practitioner in school based settings. Michelle lives in the beautiful Hudson Valley, she is a mom of 3 daughters and enjoys yoga, meditation, reading and cooking.
